14. Recordings Selection

The simulator allows you to play back recorded flights while you’re actively flying, creating dynamic scenarios for training and practice. This chapter focuses on selecting and playing recordings during your Flight Session. For information about (1) viewing recordings without flying or (2) creating your own recordings, see the Recordings chapter.

The simulator includes 160 pre-installed recordings used for Flight Training, demonstration flights, and aerotowing. For example scenarios, see the “DemoB” series (here).

To get started with using recordings:

  • Navigate to the Recordings pane from a Fly Screen.

  • Select up to eight recordings to play during your Flight Session.

  • Your selected recordings will begin playing automatically when you start flying.

Below is an example showing four recording selections.

When your flight begins, all selected recordings will start playing automatically. In the example, four recordings are playing alongside a pilot-controlled 33% scale Spitfire.

During your Flight Session, you can switch your camera view between your own aircraft and any of the recorded aircraft. For detailed information about camera controls and view options, see the Camera Views chapter.
